Nets' Sergey Karasev out for season with MCL tear, dislocated patella

Sergey Karasev of the Brooklyn Nets will have season-ending surgery Thursday to repair his injured right knee.

The Nets say Karasev has a torn medial collateral ligament, a dislocated patella and multiple loose bodies in the knee. The team announced the diagnosis before its game in Miami on Wednesday night.

Karasev was hurt in the fourth quarter of Brooklyn's game against New Orleans on Tuesday.

The Russian guard/forward appeared in 33 games and started 16 this season for the Nets, averaging 4.6 points and 2 rebounds while logging just under 17 minutes.
