The NBA has four games on the docket tonight for sports junkies to put money on. According to the odds, three of those are virtual toss-ups.

First up are the Portland Trailblazers visiting the New York Knicks. It’s been a tale of two Knicks teams so far this season, as they boast a 5-2 home record, but just 1-5 on the road.

Meanwhile, fifth-year point guard Damien Lillard continues his ascent into superstar status for the Blazers, averaging career-highs in points (28) and field goal percentage ( .460).

The next game is a battle of the big men, as Anthony Davis and the New Orleans Pelicans face off against the Dwight Howard and the Atlanta Hawks. Even as his team flounders at 4-10, Davis is making a strong case for MVP in the early part of the season, putting up numbers that are a fantasy owner’s dream: 31.7 points, 11.3 rebounds, 2.9 blocks, 2.1 assists and 1.8 steals.

Howard is enjoying an admirable first season with his hometown Hawks, as well, once again among the league leaders in rebounds and field goal percentage. More importantly, his team is off to a 9-4 start, including 6-1 at the Philips Arena.

The most surprising odds of the night belong to the Chicago Bulls-Denver Nuggets matchup. The new-look Bulls with its three guard lineup are 9-5, including 5-4 on the road. The rebuilding Nuggets are 5-8, and just 2-4 at home. However, the opening lines had Chicago giving just a point.

Speaking of surprising, the overachieving Los Angeles Lakers are off to a 7-7 start. For some perspective, they did not reach their seventh win until New Year’s Day last season. They’ll go up against the 8-6 Oklahoma City Thunder and do-it-all guard Russell Westbrook, who is looking to becoming the first player since Oscar Robertson in 1962 to average a triple double for the season.
