Milwaukee Bucks Preseason Preview: October 19 vs Indiana Pacers
The Milwaukee Bucks will host the Indiana Pacers in their sixth and final preseason game in 2016.
The Milwaukee Bucks won’t see their new addition in their last preseason game, which admittedly takes a bit of the fun out of it for Bucks fans.
Tony Snell really had a sprained ankle, it turns out, so while he will hopefully be ready for Opening Night he won’t play against Indiana. The Bucks will have to roll out yet another stopgap at shooting guard, which will happen when a player like Khris Middleton is out.
Most of the other Bucks should be in. Rashad Vaughn‘s status is unclear after he missed the last two games, plus Milwaukee’s second preseason game. It won’t be good for his rotation spot if Vaughn doesn’t get any minutes in this last preseason game.
Matthew Dellavedova, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Jabari Parker will doubtlessly start from the jump for the Bucks. Tony Snell will too, if healthy.
That just leaves the center position. It feels like Miles Plumlee will be the Bucks starter, with Greg Monroe serving as a big sixth man and John Henson starting the year as the odd man out. However there’s certainly nothing in stone yet, which means the center rotation might be one of the most interesting aspects of the game against the Pacers.
It’s typically wise to disregard most of the NBA preseason, but it’s tough not to want to observe what the Bucks do in this game. Watching it for the pure joy of seeing NBA caliber basketball players do their thing might just be the smartest approach though.
Considering the Bucks just played on Monday and they’re around a week from the games mattering, it wouldn’t be surprising to see some players rested in this one on both sides.
More from Behind the Buck Pass
Indiana is 3-2 thus far this preseason, and a few new Pacers have done the most for the team thus far in the preseason. Jeff Teague, Thaddeus Young and Al Jefferson have all played in every single one of the Pacers five games, and they’ve all scored at least 11 points per game.
Paul George is clearly the backbone of the team though, and he’s participated in just three contests. He may or may not appear in the Bucks contest–there was talk of him playing in the last game these two teams had, but he ended up sitting out.
Pacers.com projects Indiana to roll out their starting five of Teague, Monta Ellis, George, Young and Myles Turner. They also took a stab at Milwaukee’s lineup, projecting Malcolm Brogdon, Giannis, Thon Maker, Jabari and Henson to start.
The game has been picked up by Fox Sports Wisconsin, so Bucks fans will be able to tune in to the team’s final preseason contest.
