Mikhail Prokhorov is finally going to a Nets game

To say Brooklyn Nets owner Mikhail Prokhorov is a fair-weather fan would be incorrect. It implies that he's a fan at all.

Prokhorov hasn't been in the Nets' presence since the first week of November, five whole months ago. That's the first week of the season. Now, we're a few days away from the last one. More from Stefan Bondy of the New York Daily News:

The Russian owner is flying from Moscow to attend Wednesday’s game in Brooklyn against the Hawks — his first appearance around the Nets since Nov. 5 — catching up on a team finally clicking after Billy King’s transformational trade at the deadline.

Prokhorov pledged at the beginning of the season to attend 10 home games, but he’s been more absent than usual amidst an economic crisis in Russia and rumors that he’s looking to unload his 80 percent share of the Nets.

The 49-year-old bachelor, who said he’d punish himself by getting married if the Nets don’t win a title by 2015, is also planning to attend Friday’s home game against the Wizards.

The Nets have won 11 of their past 14 and appear to be the favorites to garner the No. 7 seed in the Eastern Conference, but it might be smart for Prokhorov to start shopping for rings. That wedding will probably be ridiculous.
