Michigan State commits strangest penalty against Rutgers
Michigan State faced off against Rutgers in Week 11 in the hopes of winning its first Big Ten football game of the season.
That happened (MSU won 49-0), but not without some weird personnel issues going down before the final whistle.
Specifically, the Spartans were called for having two players with the same jersey number (No. 22) in the same offensive formation.
The players in question were wide receiver Paul Andrie and running back Delton Williams.
It's kind of a garbage rule, considering home teams tend to have 100+ players on the roster and have to double up numbers, and it tends to guarantee walk-ons see less playing time than they already get.
But, you know, can't go confusing the refs!
Dan is on Twitter. Fill your sidelines with that double vision.
