Message to all rookies: Don't make fun of Nene
Washington Wizards big man Nene is having himself a pretty good season. Besides the demotion from Washington's starting lineup to the bench, Nene is posting his highest True Shooting percentage since 2011 and completely dominating the defensive glass.
During a recent game, he even went coast-to-coast, which amused rookie Kelly Oubre Jr. Literal rookie mistake. Here's The Washington Post with more on how Nene handled it:
Nene is shooting 57.7 percent from the floor, and appears to be getting more and more comfortable as Washington's backup center.
If Oubre Jr. knows what's good for him, he'll politely applaud his scary 33-year-old teammate the next time he does anything awesome.
“The rookie, he tried to make fun of me. ‘Oh, look at you, man, coast to coast,’ ” Nene said, referring to rookie Kelly Oubre Jr. in a high-pitched voice after Washington’s 97-95 win. “I said, ‘Dude, honest, you never saw my videos, huh? All those years?’ I have ability. I’m just respecting my position. When things happen, that happens. And tonight that happened.”
