Mavs' Parsons sits against Warriors with sore back

Published Dec. 13, 2014 2:46 p.m. ET

DALLAS (AP) Mavericks forward Chandler Parsons sat out Saturday's game against Golden State with lower back soreness.

It's the first time Parsons has missed a game for the Mavericks since signing a three-year, $46 million offer sheet in the offseason.

The Warriors went into the game with a league-best record of 19-2, and the Mavericks were 0-4 against the teams among the top seven in the Western Conference.

Parsons' back has been sore since he took a hard fall against Memphis on Tuesday. He played a night later against New Orleans.

Parsons had at least 20 points in three straight games before sitting out and is averaging 16.3 points, third on the team.
