Mavericks are "seriously interested" in JaVale McGee

Published Mar. 4, 2015 11:27 a.m. ET

JaVale McGee is a humongous human being with unteachable physical attributes and the ability to do things nobody else can do.

The Dallas Mavericks know this, which is why, according to ESPN's Marc Stein, they're reportedly willing to ignore all the negative baggage he brings to the table.

In only 256 minutes of action with the Denver Nuggets and Philadelphia 76ers this season, the 27-year-old is averaging 4.6 points and 2.7 rebounds per game.

Whether he can still play remains to be seen; over the past few years he's looked more like a busted carnival ride than an effective basketball player. But that won't stop one of the league's 28 other teams to give him a shot, Dallas included.
