Matt Barnes reportedly talked trash to James Harden's mom

James Harden went off in the second half to give the Houston Rockets a much-needed win over the Los Angeles Clippers in Game 2 Wednesday night. He looked like a man who was playing angry, and Matt Barnes may have had something to do with it.

According to ESPN’s Calvin Watkins, Barnes was accused of talking trash to Harden’s mom during the game, and the Rockets were unhappy about it.

"I've been told Matt Barnes talked smack to James Harden's mom during the game," Watkins tweeted.

"Apparently some people with the Rockets are not happy about it," Watkins indicated in a subsequent tweet.

That’s all the detail Watkins provided, so we don’t have much. It didn’t appear that Harden had to do what LeBron did to his mom several years ago during a playoff game, so we don’t really know what happened. But if Barnes’ alleged smack talk lit a fire under Harden, Rockets fans can thank him for sparking the comeback and evening the series.
