Michael Jordan is the 513th-richest person in America, according to Forbes' annual rankings. The best NBA player ever also finds himself a rookie in the class of Forbes' new billionaires.

It's no secret that the Charlotte Hornets owner has become quite the businessman since he retired in 2003. He continues to set records off the court, having become the first basketball player turned billionare, outpacing LeBron James, who had counted the achievement among his goals in his past.

So it's no surprise the have-nots are swarming for a taste of MJ's fortune. Noted pauper Magic Johnson, merely an owner of the Los Angeles Dodgers, took to Twitter for a public plea:

Let's hope Jordan's feeling generous and can help Magic make ends meet.
