Magic dropping $500K per week to hang with stars on yacht in France

Updated Mar. 5, 2020 12:51 a.m. ET

Last week we learned that Magic Johnson was in St. Tropez, France, spending time with the likes of Samuel L. Jackson, Lionel Richie and Prince Albert of Monaco. Some photos appeared to show the Hall of Famer working out on a boat at sea.

Well, it appears that was just the tip of the iceberg — the Dodgers part-owner reportedly is vacationing ON THE BOAT ... at a price tag that reaches seven figures!

According to TMZ, Johnson is staying aboard the Amadeus, a yacht owned by French billionaire Bernard Arnault and rented out in the past to the likes of Bono and former British Prime Minister Tony Blair. According to the story, Arnault charges a weekly rate of $527,000 for use of the boat, and Johnson has vacationed on it for the past seven years.

TMZ reports that Johnson is vacationing on the yacht for six weeks, though tweets from Johnson’s Twitter feed indicate he and wife Cookie are vacationing for four weeks.

So what do you get aboard the 230-foot vessel for your half-million dollars a week?

Amenities such as enough room for 19 crew members (TMZ says Johnson has a crew of 18 on his current stay), sleeping quarters that accommodate nearly 100 people, a gym, bar area, driving range, sauna and a movie theater. Plus the boat has its own Wi-Fi (you know, in case he needs to field an email with the trade deadline approaching).

Johnson reportedly “pays for the bulk of the yacht himself,” though “when Sam Jackson comes aboard, he chips in.”

As for what Johnson has been doing during his getaway:
