Love out against Thunder because of stiff neck

Published Feb. 5, 2014 8:19 p.m. ET

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) Minnesota Timberwolves forward Kevin Love isn't playing against the Oklahoma City Thunder because of a stiff neck.

The Timberwolves say Love hurt his neck in a hard fall during the fourth quarter of Minnesota's win Tuesday over the Los Angeles Lakers.

Minnesota coach Rick Adelman said Love had treatment before Wednesday's game in an attempt to play. He was in the starting lineup given to media before the team announced he would be out.

Minnesota also is without injured starting center Nikola Pekovic (ankle) and starting forward Corey Brewer, who missed the game after the birth of a son on Tuesday.
