Kobe to be honored at celebrity landmark

NBA star Kobe Bryant will become the first athlete to have his hand and foot imprinted at Grauman's Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, the Los Angeles Times reported Thursday.

The five-time NBA champion will be honored at a ceremony on Feb. 19 as part of the festivities surrounding All-Star weekend.

He will reportedly later throw a gala attended by at least 1,200 guests.

"To be a part of such elite company is a tremendous honor. I’m proud to be the first athlete to be recognized," Bryant said in a statement.

The forecourt of the theater is famous for its collection of prints saluting the movie industry's biggest names.
