NEW YORK (AP) The New York Knicks have signed Jimmer Fredette to a 10-day contract, giving the former college player of the year another shot at the NBA.

Fredette was called up from the Knicks' NBA Development League team on Monday and is expected to be in uniform against Toronto at Madison Square Garden.

The 6-foot-2 guard has spent most of the season with Westchester, averaging 21.8 points and shooting 40.5 percent from 3-point range. He was the MVP of the NBA D-League All-Star Game after scoring 35 points.

Fredette was the No. 10 pick in the 2011 draft after leading the nation with 28.9 points per game that season at BYU. But he has managed just 6.0 per game for three teams in the NBA.
