The Warriors needed a big night from Kevin Durant to overcome a 45-point performance by Anthony Davis, and Golden State got its first win of the season, 122-114 on Friday night in New Orleans.
Davis, who added 17 rebounds, has had a monster start to the season, scoring 50 in the opener, but the Pelicans fell to 0-2 as the Warriors bounced back from that season-opening spanking by the Spurs.
Durant had 30 points and 17 rebounds, Klay Thompson added 28 and Steph Curry had 23. Durant, who had 27 and 10 in the opener, had a late block on Davis and took it the other way for a layup against him to help ice the win.

New Warrior Durant also showed some toughness, earning a technical foul for shoving Lance Stephenson to the floor after the Pelicans player fouled him.
The Warriors shot and rebounded better than they did in their opener, but still are struggling with their 3-point shooting (9 of 28). Curry was 4 of 10, Thompson 2 of 9 and Durant 0 for 3.
