Karl-Anthony Towns: Kevin Garnett is 'going to be huge'

Karl-Anthony Towns is destined for great things. But it won't come right away. Before he can become the player most expect him to be, Towns must learn the ins and outs of NBA basketball and NBA life.

There's probably no better person to teach him everything he needs to know than Kevin Garnett, his first-ball Hall of Fame teammate.

Here's what Towns recently told the Washington Post's Michael Lee about having Garnett as a resource and mentor:

“It’s going to be huge...When you have a person like him, you have a legend on your team, it makes all the difference. He’s allowing me to have an experience that I couldn’t get from anyone else but him. He’s a champion, so we know what we need to do to be a championship team. So when you’re talking about a player, you’re talking about one the greatest talents this league has ever had. So [I plan on] just picking his brain, educating myself about the game and becoming a better player.”

From how to score in the post, to how to anchor a defense and communicate from the back line, Garnett's influence on Towns should shoot his development into warp speed.

This situation couldn't be more perfect for both guys.
