Joakim Noah continues to hate on the city of Cleveland

Joakim Noah likely was feeling a bit surly on Sunday following the Chicago Bulls’ 99-94 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers at Quicken Loans Arena. And that unhappy disposition certainly did not help change the center’s already-unsavory opinion of Cleveland.

Unlike the Midwest metropolis the Bulls call home, Noah said after the game that there isn’t anything really deserving of praise about “The Forest City” outside of basketball.

“This is a great place to play basketball,” he said, via ESPN. “Other than that, there’s not much else to do. But when you get onto that court, it’s a great place to play basketball. That’s as much love as I’ll give to Cleveland.”

Even one of the Cavaliers players said as much about the city, as J.R. Smith - upon his trade to Cleveland from the bright lights of New York - -- asserted that the change to less flashy scenery would pay dividends for his career due to the lack of outside distractions.

Noah’s untoward attitude of Cleveland is nothing new, as he previously disparaged the good name and reputation of the city during a 2010 playoff series between the Bulls and Cavs.

“I don’t know about Cleveland, man, there is nothing going on,” Noah said then about a day off ahead of Game 2 of the teams’ first round playoff series. “It’s bad, man.”

Noah was asked if his negative perception of the town would provide any added motivation to win the series, and the fiery player didn’t back down.

“What, that Cleveland really sucks?” Noah said.

As far as the possibility of the Cavaliers and Bulls facing off once again in the upcoming postseason, Noah again paid a backhanded compliment to the city’s basketball culture, but little else.

“It would be very, very exciting. It’s something I really hope happens. This is a great place to play basketball,” said Noah.
