A preview of the Elite Eight matchups for the Hardwood Houdini Tournament

John Havlicek had a big scare to end the Second Round of the Hardwood Houdini Tournament. Ray Allen gave him a run for his money, but Havlicek survived and will be in the Elite Eight.

Just like in the first two rounds, all voting will be done on Twitter – @HoudiniCeltics. The poll will stay up for 20 hours and the player with the most votes moves on to the Elite Eight.

In the first round we did a player preview and in the second round we looked at what part of each of player’s game defined their respective careers with the Boston Celtics. For the Elite Eight, we’ll look at each respective player’s best season with the Celtics. The voting is still based on who had the best overall career with the Boston Celtics, not just in one particular season, though.

Here is a look at the updated bracket:

Side A

1 Bill Russell vs 5 Robert Parish

…………………………………………….

2 Bob Cousy vs 3 Kevin McHale

Side B

1 Larry Bird vs 4 Kevin Garnett

…………………………………………….

2 John Havlicek vs 3 Paul Pierce

The Tournament will resume tomorrow Tuesday, September 6. Don’t forget to vote as we have a new matchup everyday!
