Here's why Allen Iverson left his Hall of Fame trophy in his hotel after the ceremony

The 2016 class of the Basketball Hall of Fame made out like bandits. Not only did they get amazing orange jackets commemorating their induction into basketball's most exclusive club, but each honoree also received a classy statue that invokes the monument outside the Hall of Fame in Springfield, Mass.

Pretty cool, right? But there's a little bit of a catch when it came to Allen Iverson. The 2016 inductee apparently left his Hall of Fame trophy at his hotel in Springfield after the festivities were over:

On the surface, that seems forgetful at best and disrespectful at worst. But if you dig a little deeper, there's a reasonable explanation for Iverson's decision.

So there you go. If anyone tries to tell you that Iverson spaced and left his trophy at the hotel, now you can let them know the truth.
