Hawks' Schroder apologizes for comments following Germany loss

Atlanta Hawks point guard Dennis Schroder apologized on Thursday for comments he made about Germany coach Chris Fleming following Germany's 89-82 overtime loss to Italy on Wednesday.

After the loss, Schroder criticized Fleming's decision to foul Italy with Germany up three, saying it was "not smart." Italy converted both free throws, fouled Schroder (who made one of two), and then scored again to send the game into overtime, eventually winning.

Schroder then issued an apology on Thursday morning:

Germany has lost three consecutive games and will finish the Eurobasket first-round group play on Thursday against Spain.
