Greek League player ruins playoff run by scoring on own basket in overtime

Oh no, Jermaine. Not like this.

In what can only be described as a king-hell, tectonic brain fart, former Arizona State Sun Devil Jermaine Marshall sunk his team's chances at a Greek Basket League championship with a last-second basket on his own basket.

Deadspin's Timothy Burke spotted video of the blunder, which happened in overtime as Marshall's Kifissia club tried to seal a win against Aris and move on to the GBL semi-finals.

Leading 95-93, Kifissia benefited from a missed Aris free throw and the ball was outlet-ed to Marshall. For whatever reason - - perhaps the vaguely drive dish motion of the pass - - Marshall's brain said "Now take it to the rack."

And he charged in and floated one on his own basket.

Kifissia went on to lose the game in double overtime and was bounced from the tournament.

Womp womp.

Dan is on Twitter. He hopes Marshall lays low for a while. Maybe take some yoga and find inner peace.
