George gets huge outpouring of support after leg injury

Published Aug. 2, 2014 12:08 a.m. ET

Pacers forward Paul George suffered a gruesome leg injury Friday during the fourth quarter of a Team USA scrimmage in Las Vegas, leaving his teammates shaken and saddened on the court.

George was taken out of the arena on a stretcher. With players looking visibly upset, coach Mike Krzyzewski announced to the crowd that the scrimmage would not be finished out of respect to George and his family.

It didn't take long, however, for an outpouring of good wishes, calls for prayers and words of encouragement to come from George's many fellow players from across the league.

Many of the league's biggest stars, including LeBron James, Kevin Durant and Kevin Love, took to Twitter to wish him well in what is sure to be a long recovery.

George, considered a lock to make the final 12-man roster for the World Cup of Basketball that starts later this month in Spain, thanked those who had sent him support and ensured everyone he would be back soon.

Here's just a sample of the many tweets sent out from across the league to George after the injury.
