Game Preview: Grizzlies vs. Wizards
The Memphis Grizzlies were handed their first loss of the season Saturday, but look to rebound Sunday against the Wizards.
The Grizzlies started the season off with a solid come from behind victory against the Timberwolves, but failed to duplicate that magic Saturday in New York.
Sunday, they’ll look to get back on track as thy return back home to Memphis to face off against the Washington Wizards. The Wizards are coming off of a 15-point loss to the Atlanta Hawks Thursday.
The Grizzly big men will look to punish the smaller front line of the Wizards. Marc Gasol and Zach Randolph will look to go at Marcin Gortat and the smaller, but quicker Markieff Morris.
More from Beale Street Bears
Morris is coming off of a solid outing in which he scored 22 points, while shooting 50 percent from the field.
The backcourt duo of John Wall and Bradley Beal are looking to overcome a poor shooting night they had against the Hawks. Both guards combined to shoot just 9-for-27 for a total of 25 points.
Given their quickness, they shouldn’t have trouble finding shots against a hampered Grizzly defense.
The Memphis Grizzlies are trying to respond after getting trounced Saturday against the Knicks. A game in which the Grizzlies shot a pedestrian 37-86 (43 percent.)
With the injury bug still poking around, Head Coach David Fizdale will look to his veterans to carry most of the load Sunday. If they can control the boards and limit second chance points, then they should have a good chance at grabbing the win against the struggling Wizards.
