Four Magic players miss game with virus

Published Dec. 3, 2010 12:00 a.m. ET

The Orlando Magic are without four players, including center Dwight Howard, because of a stomach virus that has left the team short-handed for its game against Detroit on Friday night.

Howard and Mickael Pietrus will miss both this game and Orlando's game at Milwaukee on Saturday night. Guards Jameer Nelson and J.J. Redick are also sitting out against Detroit.

Redick already missed Wednesday's game at Chicago because of the bug.

The Magic plan to start Marcin Gortat in Howard's place and Chris Duhon in place of Nelson.
