Flea played the national anthem for Kobe's sendoff and fans hated it

Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant's retirement game nearly perfect. The 37-year-old dropped 60 points (the most any player has scored all year) on 50 shots (a the most since Wilt Chamberlain scored 100), and hit the game winner to cap a huge comeback.

I say nearly perfect because the Lakers may wish they had picked a different artist to perform the national anthem. Lakers megafan Flea of the Red Hot Chili Peppers kicked off the night with an inventive bass-only version of The Star-Spangled Banner, and was quickly roasted on Twitter for what some fans are calling the worst national anthem of all time.

This isn't the first time Flea's performed the anthem for the Lakers. Here he is in 2014 playing a rendition that's a bit more faithful to the original tune.
