Updated Mar. 5, 2020 1:29 a.m. ET

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. (AP) Detroit Pistons guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope is out for Thursday night's game against the New York Knicks with a right groin strain.

Caldwell-Pope left the game in Wednesday's loss at Boston after he appeared to slip on a wet spot on the court late in the second quarter. Coach Stan Van Gundy said he had an MRI and would be evaluated by doctors Thursday night.

Caldwell-Pope is averaging 14.6 points per game this season.
