Damian Lillard on showdown with LaMarcus Aldridge: 'I want to beat him'

LaMarcus Aldridge fled Portland for San Antonio over the summer, placing him in a better spot to win a championship. It wasn't a simple choice, though. The Trail Blazers were the only team Aldridge had ever played for, and to leave them in his prime wasn't easy.

Damian Lillard, his All-Star ex-teammate, doesn't really care. All he knows is that Aldridge is now the enemy, and here's what he told The Oregonian about their upcoming matchup:

With Aldridge gone, Lillard has attempted more shots than any other player in the NBA this season. He's third in points, fourth in assists, sixth in Win Shares and eighth in PER.

Safe to say he's okay with Aldridge gone.

"I want to beat him, I want to beat that team," All-Star Damian Lillard said. "He wanted to go somewhere where he could win a championship. He did that. Now they're coming to us. I want to beat them. That's just the competitor in me."
