Damian Lillard is one step closer to making his return

The Portland Trail Blazers have somehow gone 2-2 since Damian Lillard was sidelined with plantar fasciitis just under two weeks ago.
As their best player and floor leader, Lillard's offensive presence wasn't missed over Portland's past two games, both wins, against the Cleveland Cavaliers and Sacramento Kings. But in order to make a real run towards the Western Conference's eight seed, the Trail Blazers definitely need a healthy Lillard leading the way.
On Tuesday they received some good news about his health. The Oregonian has more:
Portland's offense isn't even averaging one point per possession in Lillard's absence, but defensively they've done a quality job. It's a small-sample size, though.
His scoring punch is sorely missed, and it's only a matter of time before they get him back.
Damian Lillard on Tuesday took a step of progress in his rehabilitation from left foot plantar fasciitis, participating in extended portions of the Trail Blazers' morning practice in Tualatin. The All-Star point guard said his foot was pain-free after the workout, but stopped short of declaring himself ready to return when the team hosts the Denver Nuggets Wednesday night at the Moda Center. "I want to make sure I'm 100 percent ready to go," Lillard said. "I don't want to be out there feeling restricted or uncomfortable. When I feel that I'm ready to go, I'll play."
