Brandon Ingram details his 'sickening' weight-gaining program

Much has been made about Brandon Ingram's slender frame. The 6-9, 190-pound Los Angeles Lakers rookie knows he has to pack on the pounds in order to compete at the highest level and is going to great lengths to achieve that goal.

But let's just say he's not enjoying the journey.

"It gets sickening," Ingram told ESPN, "but I just try to stick to it."

So what is so sickening about Ingram's weight-gaining regimen? The Lakers rookie has to eat every three to four hours and even has an app that reminds him to do so.

Ingram told ESPN that his goal is to eat six times a day every 24 hours, starting with breakfast, then a snack, then lunch, then another snack, then dinner and to top it off another snack.

Ingram told the outlet that these meals consist of steak, grilled chicken, mashed potatoes, creamed spinach, anything to pack on productive pounds. If that helps accelerate Ingram's transition to the NBA game, the Lakers are all for it.

The Lakers are trying to get back to their winning ways after failing to win even 30 games each of the past three seasons and they hope Ingram will be a big part of that rebirth.

"I know when I went to Duke I gained a lot of weight there, and just trusting these guys, I know I'm in a great organization, so just them helping me get the right food and doing everything in the weight room that I can," Ingram said last month.
