Washington Wizards guard Bradley Beal has a lot on his plate this offseason. He's eligible for a contract extension, he's stepping into more of a leadership role with Paul Pierce gone to Los Angeles, and he's also in Africa where he participated in this weekend's NBA exhibition.

How did Beal play in the NBA's first game in Africa? Here's more from Jorge Castillo of the Washington Post

Beal found some familiarity on the hardwood at Ellis Park in Johannesburg on Saturday, helping Team World overcome a 20-point deficit to topple Team Africa, 101-97. Beal started at shooting guard and netted a team-high 18 points on 7-of-14 shooting, including four three-pointers.

“It’s been great. It’s been a humbling experience,” Beal said in a conference call with reporters before Saturday’s exhibition game. “Just seeing the different lifestyles and seeing how appreciative these people are and seeing how they have nothing but they’re still happy. It kind of motivates you and humbles you to continue to get involved and continue to appreciate all that you have and motivate you to be better. But overall, the experience has been great.”
