Bogut: NBA full of 'shallow, two-faced' people

Dallas Mavericks center Andrew Bogut says that the NBA is full of "shallow" personalities, adding everyone is "two-faced" and "fake."

Bogut made the comments before the Mavericks played the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday. Bogut spent the previous four seasons with Warriors before being traded to Dallas so that bGolden State could make room to sign free-agent forward Kevin Durant.

"But that's how it is," Bogut said to USA Today. "I don't buy into the sources thing. I don't buy into all that (expletive), because this league is so two-faced and everybody is so fake. The same people who made those comments will see me tomorrow and shake my hand and ask me how my family is."

Bogut says it is hard to meet genuine people in the league. "That's just the reality, and I understand that," he says.

Bogut then clarified his previous comments about the league's fake personalities.

"The quotes were directly related to, in general, anonymous sources in the league, not so much to do with whether it was the Warriors or whoever just over the course of 12 years," Bogut said.

Bogut also said sources shouldn't bother "if you're not going to put your name to a quote."

The 12-year veteran said it was disappointing to leave the Warriors, especially after the team made the NBA Finals two years in a row.

"You leave a team like that and it's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity," Bogut said.. "It was bitter in a way. I wasn't mad at anybody about it. I understood it completely. I'm not stupid."
