Blocked shots key Warriors' win over Thunder

Blocked shots prove to be the key to the Golden State Warriors’ win over the Oklahoma City Thunder at home.

The Golden State Warriors picked up a huge win at home over the Oklahoma City Thunder in a rematch of the Western Conference Finals. Kevin Durant was able to get the first battle against Russell Westbrook and brought energy on both sides of the floor for the team en route to 39 points.

While everyone is going to focus on what Golden State did on offense, it was their defense and more importantly, blocked shots that led to the win. According to Warriors PR, the team blocked 14 shots on the night, which is the most the team has had since early 2012.

Durant had some notable blocks, including a big one over Westbrook. There was even a moment where Durant and Draymond Green teamed up together for a block as well. Interior defense has been lamented as an issue for the team, but they made sure to raise up and get those arms up when the Thunder went up for the shot.

This team has been working hard on defense and improving their flaws. Becoming a great shot blocking team could solve a lot of their problems. Against a team like Oklahoma City, 14 blocks was a fantastic night and something to be proud of.
