Ayesha Curry makes it rain in China

Published Jun. 30, 2017 6:28 p.m. ET

Ayesha Curry, chef, TV personality, and superstar wife of decent NBA player Stephen Curry, made it rain in China from beyond the arc.

Golden State Warriors’ point guard Stephen Curry is currently touring Asia, hosting basketball clinics with Under Armour in different countries. Ayesha Curry, his superstar wife, joined him on the intercontinental trip. And she’s not just watching; she’s participating.

The First Lady of DubNation posted a video onto Instagram of a group of people, including herself and her husband, playing a basketball game on an outdoor court. She spots up beyond the three-point line ready to get the pass as the reigning NBA MVP stands in the paint ready to rebound. Eventually, someone swings it to her and take a look at the result.

Perhaps Drake needs to start singing “I’m Ayesha Curry with the shot, boy.” She hits it nothing but net. Then she celebrates a little as she goes back on defense.

Curry has a jumper that would make coaches everywhere cry tears of joy (her husband is pretty good at shooting too though). She executed a perfect hop when catching the ball and getting into her shot. She releases it quickly, showing solid balance throughout the whole motion. Here’s another look at it:

Swish. Curry hit more three-pointers in that pick up game in China than Harrison Barnes did in Games 1, 2, and 6 of the NBA Finals combined. And I really wish that was a joke.

The only thing that needs work is the Chef’s celebrating. Her husband has set the bar pretty high. She needs to own her three-pointer and give it a little extra flavor. She needs to jump around. Maybe go back on defense as soon as she releases the shot. We’ll get there.

The Warriors’ biggest need is a rim-protector, but it’s never bad to have extra shooters. If she’s not too busy promoting her first cookbook and Food Network show, maybe she can get an invite to training camp.
