Arenas, Wall coping with ankle injuries

Published Nov. 1, 2010 1:00 a.m. ET

John Wall and Gilbert Arenas are both nursing right ankle injuries as the Washington Wizards prepare for their home opener.

Wall sprained his ankle in Saturday's loss to Atlanta and was wearing a walking boot as a precaution Monday, but coach Flip Saunders said he thinks the No. 1 overall pick will play Tuesday against Philadelphia.

Wall averaged 21 points and nine assists in his first two NBA games.

Arenas is still bothered by a strained tendon in his ankle and isn't expected to play Tuesday. He has yet to make his regular season debut after being suspended for 50 games last season for bringing guns into the locker room.
