Anthony Davis finishes fifth in the MVP race

Pelicans forward Anthony Davis finished fifth in the MVP race, behind Stephen Curry, James Harden, LeBron James and Russell Westbrook. Those four are the only players more valuable to their respective team than the 22-year-old from Chicago.
This is amazing. Here's more on the MVP results from The Times-Picayune's John Reid:
"Davis ended the season with the league's highest player-efficiency rating at 30.8, which is the 11th highest for a single season in NBA history. During the regular season, Davis averaged 24.4 points during the regular season and led the NBA in blocks, averaging 2.9 per game. Behind Davis, the Pelicans made the playoffs for the first time since 2011. The Pelicans were swept in four games by top-seeded Golden State, but Davis became the fourth player in NBA history to average 30.0 points and 10.0 rebounds in his first four career playoff games."
Everyone knew Anthony Davis would eventually become one of the NBA's most valuable players on the day he was drafted. But few realized it would take just three years for him to place on the league's official ballot.
He continues to be one of the most terrifying players in all professional sports. It's time to bow to the brow.
