Andre Iguodala on LeBron James's Finals block: 'That s--- was so dope'

The 2016–17 NBA season began on Tuesday, ushering in a new season of analysis of the NBA's biggest stars and most epic plays.

But one play last season was so epic that even the man who was on the losing end of it can't stop talking about it.

"Believe me, I hear it all the time," Golden State Warriors forward Andre Iguodala said about the number of times he has been questioned about "The Block" from last year's NBA Finals.

In Game 7, LeBron James squashed Golden State's momentum and their best chance to score in the final minutes of the decisive game with a huge block on Iguodala's layup attempt. The Warriors would not score the rest of the game and the Cavaliers became NBA champions, but Iguodala doesn't blame himself for getting blocked.

"If J.R. is not there, I'm dunking it. Well, I don't know if I'm dunking, though, because I was about to die out there," Iguodala said to ESPN with a laugh. "But I give him all respect. When he blocked it, I thought somebody got shot. I laugh about it all the time. People try to joke on me. I still get mentions all day from fans always talking about the block.

"I'm like, 'Man, that s--- was so dope to me, too.' I was a fan. That s--- was amazing. When he blocked it, I was like, 'Damn, somebody got shot.' I thought it was funny. Somebody just made a good play. What you want me to do? If you enjoy the game of basketball, you should just be like, 'Dude made a great play. F--- it.'"

The Warriors next play the Pelicans on Friday at 6:30 p.m. ET, while the Cavaliers will take on the Raptors at 7 p.m. ET. The two teams will face each other for the first time since last year's Finals on Christmas Day.
