Watch: Twins' Joe Mauer drives in three runs on slow-rolling single

Here's something you don't see every day.
During Tuesday's Twins-Pirates game, Joe Mauer was at the center of one of the stranger scoring plays we've seen in a while.
With the bases loaded, Mauer smacked a slow-rolling single to left-center and this is what happened:
It's not everyday you see three runs score on a ground ball single, but with two outs and a full count, the runners were going on the pitch.
The Pirates were playing with the shift on Mauer, but it came back to bite them when he was able to knock the ball right into the gap between second and third.

The Twins ironically went on to win the game by three runs (8-5). And Mauer became the first player to drive in three runs with a ground-ball single since July 19, 2003, when Jason Giambi drove in three against then-Indians pitcher CC Sabathia.
