Twins' Perkins gets awesome surprise from wife after All-Star selection

Glen Perkins was named to the AL All-Star squad for a third consecutive year on Monday -- and that wasn't even the best part of his day.
The Twins closer was elated when he got the official word about his All-Star selection, but he got an even bigger thrill later on in the evening, when his wife surprised him with a gift after the game.
After pitching a scoreless ninth for the Twins in their extra-innings walk-off win over Baltimore, Perkins was greeted in the player parking lot with a brand new Porsche.
The sweet ride was a congratulatory gift from Perkins' wife, Alisha, who posted photos of the moment on Twitter.
Last night I surprised @glenperkins with a gift worthy of a 3x all star! Big thanks 2 @Twins_morsecode & @PJHughes45 pic.twitter.com/kbXOYBcXZv

Perkins, who is a perfect 27 for 27 in save opportunities, closed the All-Star Game at Target Field last year. He is once again one of the best closers in baseball this season, with a 1.27 ERA, 34 strikeouts and just five walks in 35 1/3 innings pitched.
