Padres deny stealing signs after Yadier Molina saw something unusual

You can't get much past St. Louis Cardinals All-Star catcher Yadier Molina, who is one of the most heads-up players in the game.
So when the eagle-eyed catcher spotted something not quite right in center field on Sunday, he had to say something. With two outs in the ninth inning and the tying run at the plate, Molina had a conversation with the home-plate umpire and pointed toward center field after San Diego Padres infielder Brett Wallace fouled off a pitch.
The FOX Sports San Diego telecast panned out toward center field in the camera well at Petco Park, revealing a man wearing a white Padres polo shirt who had binoculars and a walkie-talkie. The man had not been seen before the ninth inning.

The Cardinals got the final out in their 8-5 win, but speculation began to circulate.
A Padres spokesperson addressed the issue Monday, telling the San Diego Union-Tribune that the man was part of the Petco Park security team. The Padres added that the man temporarily had to leave his normal position and that security personnel are sometimes stationed inside the field's batter's eye to monitor the safety of the stadium.
