WR Callaway 'is a special player,' according to teammate McGee
Freshman receiver Antonio Callaway has been a revelation for head coach Jim McElwain and the Florida Gators in 2015.
The Miami native has proven to be a dependable target in the passing game -- hauling in the third-most amount of catches on the team (25). He's also tied for the lead in touchdown receptions (3) and has the highest yards-per-catch average (19.6) on the team (for anyone with at least five receptions).
Perhaps most impressively, he's demonstrated the ability to be a clutch player. His 63 yard run-and-catch for a touchdown against Tennessee effectively won the game for the Gators in the waining moments.
Teammate Jake McGee spoke about his fellow skill position teammate on Tuesday, and offered him considerable praise.
"There's not many true freshmen that really come in and create the impact that he's created," said McGee. "He's a special player, and he'll continue to grow. I can't wait to see where he progresses all the way to, but it's fun to watch him."
Callaway will look to continue his strong play this weekend, as Florida plays host to FAU.
