Sack Mamba: Pierson hoping to live up to his Twitter handle

One time a fan called Iowa State defensive lineman Dale Pierson the Sack Mamba.

Pierson liked the name enough he made it his Twitter handle.

Now the hard part is living up to the name.

Pierson, a senior, is out to improve on a line that managed just 15 sacks all of last season. Over the last four games of the season, two of which were starts, Pierson made 22 tackles and recovered two fumbles.

"If you want to play, you have to get off the ball, be physical and hitting your man and pushing back," Pierson said to the Ames Tribune. "That is really what I had to work on most to see more playing time."
