Impact Barnes spent the first three seasons of his career at Tulane. His best year came as a sophomore in 2024, when he ran for 402 yards and six touchdowns on 87 carries. Last fall, he notched 217 rushing yards on 51 carries, also catching two passes for 16 yards. Now, the tailback will add depth to the Cyclones' backfield, which lacks a true top option and has plenty of question marks after losing its top two rushers from last fall.

Impact Allah was spotted donning a boot during the Cyclones' spring showcase, a portent for what winds up being a season ending injury. The Oregon State transfer, who has 361 total yards across two seasons, will look to return to action in 2027. Meanwhile, Iowa State will focus on Cameron Pettaway, Aiden Flora and Jayden Jackson in its backfield.

Impact Bailey looked primed to be a factor for the Cyclones after three mostly seasons at TCU, but he's battling an ailment that's limiting his participation this offseason. He'll look to get healthy by fall camp and make a strong impression on the practice field closer to the season.

Impact Boyd spent the 2025 season at Michigan State, where he caught just three passes for 54 yards. The wideout appears to be in line for a big season, however, and should hold down a starting role in Ames this fall. The fact that he's developing chemistry with presumed starting quarterback Jaylen Raynor will also certainly help him earn playing time.

Impact Pettaway ran for 365 yards and hauled in 139 receiving yards last season at Bowling Green. Now, he's primed for a big role in Iowa State's backfield alongside Flora, the two of whom look slated to make up a one-two punch for the Cyclones.

He also ran for 423 yards and seven scores. In his senior season, the quarterback looks primed to run the Cyclones' offense.
