November 19, 2015

The Football Writers Association of America has given Penn State defensive end Carl Nassib more recognition this week as it tapped him as a finalist for the Chuck Bednarik Award.

Nassib is a first-year starter who leads the nation in sacks (15.5) and tackles for loss (19.5) so far this season.

He has already been named a finalist for the Lombardi Award, which goes to the best lineman in the country.

Joining Nassib on the Bednarik list are Duke safety Jeremy Cash, Clemson defensive lineman Shaq Lawson, Temple linebacker Tyler Matakevich and Alabama linebacker Reggie Ragland.
