OC Scott Frost says playing injured Vernon Adams is a 'bit of a disservice' to QB

QB Vernon Adams Jr. was pulled from Oregon's 62-20 loss to Utah on Saturday due to poor execution; however, his broken right index finger likely had a lot to do with his poor play.

Offensive coordinator Scott Frost believes it's "a little bit of a disservice putting him out there", according to Andrew Greif of The Oregonian.

As for the brewing quarterback controversy, Frost said the Ducks will play whichever QB gives the team the best chance to win.

"We're going to play the guy who gives us the best chance," Frost said, before adding that "it's just not fair to have (Adams) out there not able to throw the ball downfield. He won't be out there till he's ready to throw."

Adams, for his part, would not blame his play on his injury.

"I'm not going to keep using my finger as an excuse, you guys know what it is," said Adams. "Everybody knows what it is. I'm not going to keep using it as an excuse. I'm trying to give it my best and give it my all and that's that."
