McElwain bringing new vision, energy to Florida recruiting

While recruiting was never the biggest issue for Florida under Will Muschamp, there is undeniably a new buzz around the program, specifically its recruiting, under new coach Jim McElwain.

Several recruits have recently voiced their approval for the new attitude in Gainesville, as McElwain has laid out a clear plan to achieve his stated goal of returning Florida to the national-title-caliber program it was during Urban Meyer's tenure.

"I really like Florida and what they are doing ... I really like the coaching staff," four-star defensive end Zachery Carter told Bleacher Report.  "They're enthusiastic, and they have a swagger about them."

"I was getting pumped sitting in my seat and seeing the enthusiasm these coaches have,” tight end Tre McKitty, a 2017 recruit, told Bleacher Report. “In talking to them, you can tell they know what they are talking about. Bringing energy like that to practice and to the games, it’s just going to help the players perform at a higher level."

It's also worth noting that Florida has a new indoor practice facility (which is scheduled to be done before fall camp) as well as new athletic dorms under construction, which will only help sell the program to incoming recruits.

All things considered, it's easy to see why there's excitement building in Gainesville.
