Josh Hoover

Indiana enters as the No. 5 team in the country and a 56.5-point favorite, and Hoover is a big reason the Hoosiers have kept scoring at that level. He threw for 231 yards and four touchdowns without an interception in a 52-16 win over North Texas to open the season, building on a passing attack that produced 46 touchdowns through the air last season, the most in the NCAAFB in the 2025 regular season. Howard brings a defense that surrendered 28 points in a loss to Richmond last week, giving Hoover a favorable matchup to keep that scoring pace going. Another clean, efficient outing would extend Indiana's early-season momentum in Bloomington.

 

Charlie Becker

Becker made his presence felt in the end zone in Indiana's opener, turning 64 receiving yards into two touchdowns against North Texas. With Hoover distributing to a deep receiving group, Becker's touchdown rate stands out as Indiana faces a Howard defense that has already allowed 28 points this season. If Becker keeps finding the end zone at that rate, Indiana's passing game has another home run threat to pair with its ranked status. His involvement also spreads out the coverage attention Howard has to account for against the Hoosiers' top targets.

 

Ja'Shawn Scroggins

Howard is facing a top-five opponent as more than a five-touchdown underdog, and Scroggins gives the Bison their best chance to keep pace. The dual-threat quarterback threw for 424 yards and four touchdowns while adding 88 yards on the ground in Howard's season opener, showing he can put up numbers even when the surrounding result doesn't follow.
