Freshman wideout Alex Ofodile could be big part of deep Oregon receiving corps

True freshman Alex Ofodile is a long way from home; however, he's settled in nicely into Oregon's program.

Ofodile, who was one of the top-10 receivers in his class, enrolled at Oregon in January and has been a standout so far in fall camp. He's been so impressive that he could see the field for Oregon this season. In fact, with WR Darren Carrington facing an NCAA suspension, Ofodile could find himself in a position to really contribute in 2015.

"(Ofodile) is a big receiver that has great ball skills and he's a good route-runner," said Oregon receivers coach Matt Lubick, according to Andrew Greif of The Oregonain. "You could see that on film an the things we look for on film — do they play hard, which he did; is he physical, which he showed; and can he make plays with a ball in his hands? He showed all three of those."

As for how Ofodile feels about his progress, he says that his durability has been a key.

"In January I was definitely a lot more timid and didn't know what I was doing," Ofodile said, according to Greif. "I think I've done a solid job (this month). My biggest thing is I've made every single practice. There's been a lot of guys that have had injuries and thankfully I've been very durable."
