Ducks kicking game in great shape
Oregon's offense is built to score touchdowns. However, head coach Mark Helfrich and company must feel very good about the state of its kicking game.
Place kicker Aidan Schneider is 6-of-6 on attempts this season and has missed only one of 18 career attempts. The Ducks have had their fair share of issues kicking field goals in the past, but it seems like Schneider has become their most reliable option in years.
But why had Schneider been so reliable? Well, special teams coach Tom Osborne explains:
"I don't think he even realizes what he's doing and he's playing college football," he said. "Nothing fazes him. That's what makes him so good. He doesn't overthink things. He doesn't let anything bother him."
For this part, Schneider agrees with Osborne's assessment:
"My key is to not think about anything," Schneider said. "... I know the coaches are confident in my kicking because of what I've shown them in practice and games so far."
