Zach Hrbacek - Sits out again Wednesday Hrbacek (knee) once again sat out in Sam Houston's loss to UTEP on Wednesday night, per Pro Football Focus.

Impact Hrbacek has dealt with a knee injury that's kept him out since Week 4 against Houston. The tailback was having a rather quiet season prior to that injury, posting 43 yards on 19 carries as well as five receptions for 18 yards. As long as Hrbacek remains out, John Gentry should remain the clear workhorse back for Sam Houston moving forward.

Malik Phillips - Catches TD Phillips caught four passes for 48 yards and a touchdown against UTEP on Wednesday.

Impact Phillips started slowly, and this is his first touchdown of the season, but he's picked things up recently. Over his last four games he has 23 catches for 319 yards.

Noah Smith - Tallies another rushing TD Smith caught seven passes for 67 yards and ran five times for 17 yards and a score Wednesday versus UTEP.

Impact It took Smith a few games to adjust, but he's been the one Sam Houston player to take to the FBS level. He has 54 catches for 466 yards and four touchdowns, but he's also run for a score in each of his last two contests.

John Gentry - Touchdowns two ways Gentry ran 16 times for 71 yards and a touchdown and had three catches for 24 yards and a score against UTEP on Wednesday.

Impact A former Utah State running back, Gentry has not been able to get on a roll at any point, but he got his first rushing touchdown of the season here. He's also been a part of the passing game, as he has 22 catches for 185 yards and two scores.

Keegan Shoemaker - Throws two TDs, INT Shoemaker went 22-for-39 for 202 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception against UTEP on Wednesday. He also ran 10 times for 28 yards.

Impact Well, Shoemaker is at least consistent. He's thrown for exactly two touchdowns in five starts in a row. On the other hand, he also has thrown one interception in four of those five games.

Impact With a third-string quarterback under center, the Miners have turned to Hankins to power the offense. It's been going well. Over his last four games Hankins has 65 carries for 382 yards and two touchdowns.
