James Madison Dukes vs. Louisville Cardinals - News - September 05, 2025

Wayne Knight - Bottled up in loss Knight compiled five carries for 12 yards and caught three of four targets for 23 yards during Friday's 28-14 defeat versus Louisville.

Impact Knight struggled on the ground against the Cardinals defense. Fellow running back Jordan Fuller paced the Dukes backfield with seven carries for 31 yards in his first game of the season. Knight continued to be apart of the pass game catching three passes in both games to start the year.

Matthew Sluka - Rushing touchdown in loss Sluka completed three of five passes for 35 yards and one interception during Friday's 28-14 defeat to Louisville. He also had 21 rushes for 83 yards with one touchdown.

Impact Sluka was explosive on the ground in this game going for 83 yards and a touchdown. His rushing touchdown was from eight-yards out and gave the Dukes the lead at the time. Through two games Sluka has 113 rushing yards and two touchdowns. He has only attempted nine passes completing six of those for 50 yards and one touchdown. In both games he has thrown an interception. The Dukes have a bye week next.

Alonza Barnett III - Throws touchdown in loss Barnett completed 15 of 25 passes for 102 yards and one touchdown during Friday's 28-14 loss versus Louisville. He also had seven rushes for -23 yards.

Impact Barnett connected with tight end Lacota Dippre for a three-yard game opening touchdown in the first quarter. Barnett committed his first turnover of the season losing a fumble in the fourth quarter that was returned for a touchdown allowing Louisville to take a lead they wouldn't relinquish. Backup quarterback Matthew Sluka was explosive on the ground on this one going for 83 yards and a touchdown but only attempted five passes. Up next is a bye week for the Dukes.
